by dark
as tossed and turned around am i
dark's fallen as i step outside
the unborn night by dim blue twilight
sunset's mayfly glow has died
the cold air kisses what remains
as potholes gleam with dregs of rain
the lonely borders losing sight
beyond the street, before the drain
i must not ask for more than this
when i'm to blame for what i miss
the dawn debuted within my grasp
though frost, exhaustion, stole that bliss
but stubbornly, i go and pace
the dreary grass and shadowed space
it's all i have; i'll make it last
ere starlight takes its fading place
